1977 HARLEY DAVIDSON XLCR
The 1977 Harley Davidson XLCR was Willy G. Davidson’s very first “factory custom” to come out of the halls of the Milwaukee design department. From there, it opened the flood gates for all of the special editions that Harley Davidson continues to produce to this day. Sporting the “Iron Head” 1000cc Sportster motor and a state of the art frame design and coffin style gas tank, along with the XR style rear tail section and small fork mounted fairing, the XLCR was a completely new direction from the traditional Harleys of the day. This XLCR is a very “politically correct” unit and has retained all of the original fit and finish as it did when it rolled off the assembly line back in 1977. If I were to judge this motorcycle, I would give it close to 100 points for correctness and originality and just under that mark for overall condition. As seen in the photos and video, some cosmetic issues are pointed out that can be easily remedied to get it close to perfection. These bikes are a great investment as the prices for these nice original examples continue to increase in value and collectability. Selling with a clear Kansas title.
