1958 Matchless G80CS  (SELLING WITH NO RESERVE)

The Matchless G80CS was one of the most dominant scramblers and off-road racing motorcycles of the 1950’s and early 1960’s.  It dominated the world of off-road racing in the United States, Europe, as well as further afield in places like Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The secret to the success of the Matchless G80CS largely came down to its combination of a good frame and an excellent high-torque single cylinder engine that could handle the exceedingly rough life of the California desert racing scene. This very nice racer sports a freshly rebuilt top end and comes out of the Burt Barrett collection. Being that motorcycle has been on static display for the past few years, a full service and fluid change will need to be performed prior to operation.  Selling with a clear California title and NO RESERVE!

Note:  This bike is titled by it’s frame number.  The engine number on the title does not match the engine number on the motor due to an engine swap at sometime.

The Matchless G80CS is titled as a 1958 but the video was done before we had the title in hand and knew it was a 1958, not a 1956 as originally thought.  Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to redo the video, so our apologies for any confusion as the video states it is a 1956.
